Okay, I didn’t want to go there with Halloween only a week away, but I have to spill it! You know what I am talking about ladies, the endless search for that “perfect” women’s Halloween costume! We get to let our hair down only a couple times a year, but adult Halloween parties are one of those times. Not only do I have one party to attend this year, but four, what’s a girl to do?
My dilemma start with what do you wear, the costume from last year after you spend a lot of money on it, or start looking for a new one from scratch? Then, it is appropriate to wear one costume all the parties, or does a girl go broke and spend her rent money just to be able to strut her stuff in four costume changes? Luckily for me, three parties were on the same night, so I can go from party to party and not run into the same people, hopefully! The truth is I knew I couldn’t be seen in “last year’s costume!” and be fashionable correct, so I went in search of two new, but slightly used “one-of-a-kind” costumes.
This is where the story start’s getting good! Halloween have always been my favorite holiday, fun for kids & adults, besides all the goodies you allow yourself to eat! But this year seemed to be a little different, maybe is has to do with being in my late forties, but who knows! The bigger question is why do all the Women’s Costume’s have to be s_ _ _ _ _???? Are these costumes all superficial crap or what? They range from “Victorian Fantasy Girl” to “Sexy Prisoner”! Do these costumes seem to remind you of a character from strange p_ _ _ flick or is it just me?
Men seem to have all the great costumes to pick from; they are scary to downright funny! I began to wonder why don’t they have these outfits in the women’s version? So at this point I decide I have to just make my own costume! I am so tired of caring about my appearance every day (perfect hair, make-up, outfit & accessories), but on Halloween too?
Now ladies, don’t get me wrong, I used to do sing-a-grams part-time in college for extra money, but believe you me, my “saloon girl” get-up had enough fabric to not only cover my tush, but also enough fabric so the “girls” either weren’t left out either! Let’s just play fair and not lower ourselves to dressing a part we really don’t enjoy playing.
But to get on with my story, I decided on the “Cat Women” outfit, a fitted jumpsuit on the body, but not too revealing and it let me bring out a little of my feline personality! (Being a real life Leo & all!)) I added some red lips for drama like Anne Hathaway (Dark Knight Rises), darkened up the eyes, added false eyelashes and of coarse, a whip in tow! I guess “Halloween” is still lots of fun for adults, it’s all what you want to put into it! So the short of it is Fashion Diva’s, attend all the parties you want, but remember even on Halloween, your first impression could be your last!!!!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!
