Crazy COLOR!

Previous Posts

Okay ladies, I have been going through a lot of mood swings lately, newly wed, stepmom, just feeling blah in my late 40's, must I go on?

Anyway, I just starting thinking, could this have anything to do with what I am wearing?  After being in the "Fashion Industry" for several years, okay, decades, I know that the yoga pants (only in black) and a t-shirt probably aren't cutting it!

So, I started doing a little research and it seems color plays a huge part of your mood, wow, that's refreshing, but where should I start? I found out that black is as bad a grey, it makes a statement that you are trying to be invisible, was that what I was doing, not fully living in my new role as a  wife and mom?  Well, I do seem to livening up at night if I go out to a function or if I do the hair, make-up, cute outfit ensemble for a lunch date or afternoon shopping out with the girls!  Hume, maybe the research I found does have some merit to it!?!

I decide to try a test and instead of the wonderfully comfortable yoga pant my best friend,Jennifer, trick me into,I will try to go back out

of the box and put on one of colors, ORANGE!,(Nothing to do with O.S.U. of course, ha ha!!!) and see how I felt for that day!  I   paired up a

new Juicy Couture halter top in solid orange  with a fabulous bright shade of lipstick from the same color family, talk about energized!  I felt like I could conquer the world!  I hit the gym that day with full force, then on to errands and household chores, but no, it didn't stop there.  I proceed  to pack not only my suitcase for an upcoming trip, but also my husband, it was a day noticeably  filled with  energy. The day wouldn't have been  complete  without spending another two hours working on photo books, wow, this was incredible.

I bet you guessed it, orange stands for creativity and energy, amazing, it does really work!  So if you are having one of "THOSE" days or weeks, bump it up a notch by changing the color in your clothing!  Green is for nurturing and just feeling earthy, great for campers or outdoorsy types.  Also  another good color for vacations, incorporate  blue in some shade, it states calmness and serenity!  For you Power people, try racy red, it portrays confidence and self esteem.  Red in some fashion is great for a leader to have on, even if it's just your lipstick color!  If you're at a point in your life to start over and looking for a new beginning, try wearing white, it can be jazzed up with silver or gold accessories.  Purple is another color that  will get you noticed if that's what your looking for, maybe a new date?  Last but not least, yellow, it has healing qualities and makes you and others around you  feel happy and cheerful!  Great color to be worn for parties and friendly get-togethers!

What I decided is the best bet,  is to be yourself, no matter the mood , or clothes you wear, you are an individual and that is your own fashion statement!  Color isn't just for kids anymore, we grown ups can have fun too!  Life is way to short not to live each and every day being the "Fashionista"you were meant to be!
