Legendary Penn State head coach JOE PATERNO is dead.Paterno died yesterday at the age of 85 after a battle with lung cancer. (Official family statement.) His long career as the Nittany Lions football coach came to a troubled end when he was fired in the wake of the child-sex-abuse scandal that has since rocked Penn State. Paterno was told he had lung cancer just days after he was let go by the university's board of trustees in November.

HEIDI KLUM and SEAL are on the verge of splitting up: The "Project Runway" host is set to file divorce papers as early as this week. However, a conflicting report in Us Weekly cites a "close" friend who says "nothing is finalized... They've had a very rough road lately. They're either madly in love or having crazy fights."

KRISTIN CAVALLARI is pregnant. The reality star ("The Hills") and former "Dancing With The Stars" contestant and Chicago Bears quarterback JAY CUTLER broke off their engagement in July. But, they got back together in November, and told People magazine over the weekend "We're thrilled to announce we are expecting our first child together."

R &B legend Etta James died Friday at a hospital in Riverside, California. James passed away from complications of leukemia, which she was diagnosed with in 2010. She also suffered from dementia and Hepatitis C. The 73-year-old singer is probably best known for her classic song "At Last," as well as "Something's Got A Hold on Me." She won six Grammys and was voted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993. "This is a huge loss. Etta James was one of the greatest vocalists of our time," said Beyonce, who played James in the 2008 film Cadillac Records.

Kobe Bryant's wife made out quite nicely in their divorce. TMZ reports that Kobe and wife Vanessa have already reached an agreement on their division of property, and Vanessa, who was married to Kobe for 12 years, will get $75 million, plus three homes in Newport Beach, CA - the one she's currently living in, the one her mom lives in, and the recently completed home the couple had been building for the past two years.

Congrats to RON HOWARD's daughter, BRYCE DALLAS HOWARD, who had a baby girl last Thursday. Ron tweeted the news Saturday night. BEATRICE JEAN HOWARD-GABEL is the second child for Bryce and her husband, SETH GABEL. Her baby brother, THEO, will turn five next month.

They broke off their engagement last July but Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler’s reconciliation apparently is working. The couple is expecting a baby!  "We are thrilled to announce we are expecting our first child together," they said in a statement to People. "It's an amazing time in our life and we can't wait to meet the new addition to our growing family."
