Brad Pitt is backpedaling about comments he made to Parade magazine in which he appeared to say that his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston was boring.  “I spent the ‘90s trying to hide out, trying to duck the full celebrity cacophony," he said. "It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn’t living an interesting life myself. I think that my marriage [to Aniston] had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t." But during a press conference for his new movie Moneyball, opening Friday, Brad said he felt bad about the media's take on the statement. "It grieves me that this was interpreted this way," he said. "Jen is an incredibly giving, loving and hilarious woman who remains my friend. It is an important relationship I value greatly. The point I was trying to make is not that Jen was dull, but that I was becoming dull to myself -- and that, I am responsible for." [See Spotlight On for more.]

TAREQ WANTS A DIVORCE!

It looks like Tareq Salahi has finally gotten the hint. After his wife Michaele ran off with Journey guitarist Neal Schon, Tareq is coming to the realization that his marriage is over. TMZ reports that Tareq filed for divorce Friday citing adultery and abandonment. In his filing, Tareq says he was humiliated by his wife and her lover. In fact, Tareq claims that Schon sent him a picture of what Tareq believes is Neal's penis.  "She continually exposes our friends and acquaintances to her adulterous relationship and has flaunted the same throughout the community, the nation and indeed the world, and thus caused me to suffer great harm, humiliation and embarrassment," said Tareq, who adds that she's been sleeping with Schon "for a period of months."

Now there's talk of a "Simpsons" cable channel. Why not? Been on TV for over two decades.

Charlie Sheen made a surprise appearance at the 63rd Annual Emmy Awards on Sunday night, giving a heartfelt message to his former cast and crew of Two and a Half Men.

"Before I present Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, my old category, I want to take a moment to get something off my chest and say a few words to everybody here from Two and a Half Men," Charlie said.

"From the bottom of my heart, I wish you nothing but the best for this upcoming season. We spent eight wonderful years together and I know you will continue to make great television."

With her ex-husband Brad Pitt 3,500 miles away in London, Jennifer Aniston took to the streets of New York, hand-in-hand with her new love Justin Theroux. The two looked relaxed and very much in love in their look-alike casual outfits in the city's West Village yesterday afternoon.  And she refuses to stoop to Brad’s level and comment about when he said “Angelina was the best thing that ever happened to him!”
