PRINCE VON ANHALT is nursing a big owwie this morning. TMZ.com reports the controversial husband of ZSA ZSA GABOR was hit by a car while crossing a street in Beverly Hills, California, last Friday. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, his rep suspected he was suffering from a broken leg and a police source told the website that jaywalking may have contributed to the accident

After weeks of rumors, Holly Robinson Peete officially announced over the weekend that she will not be returning to CBS’s The Talk when it comes back from summer hiatus today. “After weeks in limbo, I was finally ‘officially’ given word from CBS today that I have not been picked up for the 2nd season of The Talk,” she wrote on her blog. “While I am relieved to have this closure, it doesn’t diminish my disappointment one bit about not continuing with a show I worked very hard to launch and love dearly. But I’ve been around long enough to know that while you cannot control certain situations you CAN control how you respond to them.” She added that she wanted to thank CBS “for a tremendous opportunity to realize a long held dream of mine to host a daytime talk show,” adding, “I learned SO much and will cherish and build upon my experience. Best of all I made some friends for life.” Meanwhile, CBS announced over the weekend that comedian Sheryl Underwood will be joining the the show as co-host.

Oprah Winfrey has announced plans for a live Facebook chat on Thursday, September 8th at 1:30 pm, PST.  The former talk show host will answer questions from fans during the live streamed interview, which coincides with Winfrey's tech industry meeting at the home of Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg. Also at the meeting will be Twitter CEO Dick Costolo and other big names from the online world, who'll discuss ways to boost traffic to Winfrey's faltering website, Oprah.com.  Fans can submit questions for the chat on Facebook

It’s only September, but the frontrunner to host February’s Oscars has now been revealed. According to Deadline.com, comedian Eddie Murphy is in talks to host the 84th Annual Academy Awards. Apparently, Murphy’s Tower Heist director Brett Ratner, who is producing the Oscars, is keen on hiring Murphy and plans to pitch the Shrek star to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences this week. Word is, Murphy is “showing interest” in the gig.

Director Brett Ratner has reportedly apologized for including a joke about epilepsy in the trailer for the comedy Tower Heist (which opens November 4th). Heroes star Greg Grunberg, who has a 15-year-old son with epilepsy, initially called for a boycott of the film because of a joke in which Eddie Murphy’s character calls Ben Stiller “little seizure boy” not once, but twice. “TERRIBLY OFFENSIVE TRAILER for #TowerHeist – Making fun @ people w/ seizures is NOT FUNNY & WRONG! “Seizure Boy!” REALLY? #Boycott RT,” Grunberg tweeted. But Ratner reportedly apologized to Grunberg and even asked Universal, who is releasing the film, to edit the joke out of the trailer. Grunberg later tweeted, "THANKS @BrettRatner for ur SINCERE APOLOGY to the Epilepsy Community! I'm lifting my personal boycott of ur hilarious film #TowerHeist RT.”

The saga of Kim Kardashian’s sex tape just won’t go away. Last week, TMZ reported that a mysterious buyer was trying to purchase the tape in order to get it off the market. Well, now TMZ reports that the porn website Pornhub.com has approached Vivid Entertainment (which owns the rights to the Kim/Ray J tape) because they want to buy it and put it online for free.  The site has reportedly offered $5 million for the tape which seems like a lowball offer, considering Vivid honcho Steve Hirsch originally said that he wouldn’t accept less than $30 mil for it. Pornhub.com says they “respectfully disagree” with Hirsch’s value of the tape.

It's another girl for Melanie Brown. The former Scary Spice and hubby Stephen Belafonte welcomed their new daughter Thursday night. A name for the child has not been released. "Finally our baby arrives," tweeted Mel B. "Stephen nearly passed out, Phoenix screamed, I laughed so hard the baby popped out!!! She is just sooo amazing!!"  This is the first child for the couple, although they both have daughters from previous relationships. Mel B is already mom to 12-year-old Phoenix (with ex-hubby Jimmy Gulzar) and 4-year-old Angel (with ex-beau Eddie Murphy). Belafonte also has a daughter, Giselle, who is six.
