Johnny Depp is opening up about a recent near-death experience he had during a flight with Rum Diary director Bruce Robinson. "The plane just shut down," Depp tells Life magazine. "The sound of the engines stopped. There was silence. Bruce and I were looking at each other and I think I said, 'Is this it?' It was like this weird extended moment when you're just floating for a second and you could feel this unpleasant descent." He continued, "Nobody said a word except for Bruce and I, sitting next to each other saying, 'Oh sh-t! This is death; I guess this is how it goes down.' Then we burst into hysterical laughter at the idea that this was how we were going to die." Luckily the plane's engines suddenly started back up again. "I guess you could say that was a big bonding experience for Bruce and me," Depp says. "For a moment there, we were going down together."

Hugh Grant may not be with his baby mama anymore, but he sure is taking care of her. The Sun reports that the Notting Hill star has purchased a $1.9 million home in London for Tinglan Hong, who gave birth to his daughter in late September.   On Wednesday, Grant was spotted paying a visit to the home to see his kid. "I have a 24-hour break from filming in Germany," Grant told reporters. "I have come back to protect my baby." Meanwhile, it appears as though fatherhood hasn't slowed down Grant's social life. The actor was spotted out in Berlin earlier this week with 21-year-old German burlesque singer Elisa Schmidt. The couple dined at a popular restaurant, and was later seen walking hand in hand on the city's most famous shopping street. "They then took a taxi home and shared hot kisses in the back seat," claims the German newspaper Bild.

WYATT KNIGHT --best known for playing "Tommy Turner" in the "Porky's" movies --is dead at the age of 56. His body was found on the Hawaiian island of Maui back on October 26th and police believe the cause of death is suicide. Mr. Knight's wife, SILVINA, tells TMZ.com Wyatt recently overcame a battle against cancer, but radiation therapy left him in serious "physical and emotional pain," the poor guy was "tired" of hurting and chose to end his life in a "beautiful and serene place." Understandably, his friends and family are "devastated" and Silvina remembers her husband as an "loving person with an amazing spirit" who is now "free and at peace."
