Katie Couric is back on the market. The veteran news reporter confirmed rumors that she and her much younger boyfriend Brooks Perlin have ended their five-year relationship. Perlin, 37, who the 54-year-old Couric met at a cancer benefit in 2006, is in the process of moving out of Couric's Upper East Side home.  "Brooks is a nice guy, but it was inevitable because they had different priorities and perspectives, and their age difference made it a challenge too," a source told Us Weekly. "Katie is someone who is incredibly versatile and accessible and in high demand and he just couldn't keep up."

Actress Rooney Mara went to great lengths to get the character of Lisbeth Salander just right in the big screen version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (opening December 21^st).  Although she didn't get the character's signature tattoos, she did decide to get her nipple pierced before filming.  "I'm naked quite a lot in the movie, and I thought, she has it in the book, and she should have it [in the movie]," she tells Allure. "Because of all the tattoos and the makeup and the piercings, and the physical transformations my body has to go through, it would always feel sort of like I was in costume, even if I was naked. It just felt like a good one to get--a necessary one to get." As for all the nudity in the film, Rooney, 26, didn't have a problem with it.   "Nudity is such a huge part of the character in the book, so I never thought twice about it," she says. "There was no time for hesitation. I didn't have time to second-guess anything or be scared; I just showed up and was comfortable."

Did Kris Humphries cheat on Kim Kardashian during their marriage? Mediatakeout reports that 26-year-old NBA star partied with two girls in the couple's Manhattan hotel suite while Kim was out of town.  A twitter account with the username "shellmerci" posted seven pictures of the gals with Kris, and the girls can be seen holding monogrammed towels with the initials "KH" and "KK."

Brooke Mueller has changed her mind, and has now decided to enter a full-time treatment program. On Monday, Brooke's rep said she'd agreed to outpatient treatment, but now she's realized she needs more serious help. "After further reflection and consideration, Brooke has decided to remove herself from the media spotlight and has entered a long-term in-patient treatment center where she can focus on her recovery without distraction," her rep told TMZ.  "She has already arrived at the facility and, out of respect for her privacy, no further information will be released about her treatment. Brooke’s goal is to maintain her sobriety and she believes this is the best option to reach that goal."

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have been happily married for seven years, and are expecting their third child together. Such a happy marriage is something that isn't often seen in Hollywood, and Jen opens up to InStyle magazine about how they make it work. "We both know we couldn’t do what we do without each other," she explains. "Ben always says, 'if you love it, we can make it happen.'" Ben is also great when it comes to showering his wife with gifts, especially the sparkly kind. "He knows when to swoop in with the gesture," she says. "Honestly, I would do anything for that man, because I know it's not taken for granted." Garner, who's mother to daughters Violet, 6, and Seraphina, 3, tells the magazine that she has been particularly craving junk food during her current pregnancy.  Said Jen, "My kids had never seen Doritos before. They would say, 'Mom, where did you get that orange chip? I really want that.'"

Lamar Odom's trade to the Mavericks could be a great thing for the Kardashian family business ... 'cause they are hoping to open a Kardashian DASH store in Dallas.  We're told Lamar is still harboring some anger at the Lakers organization -- but he's got mad love for the players, especially Kobe Bryant -- who lashed out at reports that the Kardashian reality shows were to blame for the trade.

He was making 8 or 9 million on the Lakers per year I believe.

Lindsay Lohan is doing what she does best, missing appointments and creating drama.

She missed her flight out of Hawaii, and was to tape an episode of Ellen, promoting her new magazine cover on yesterday, but she missed it and the show isn’t going to reschedule her appearance.  Lohan’s latest excuse is “Lindsay was delayed in Hawaii due to a travel-related issue.”
