ABC ANNOUNCES FINAL SEASON OF DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES!

ABC has announced that the upcoming eighth season of Desperate Housewives will be the show’s last. "I've been in this business for 23 years, and I'm very aware of people overstaying their welcome," said creator Marc Cherry. "I just didn't want that to happen to Desperate Housewives. I wanted to go out in the classiest way possible."

OUTKAST’S BIG BOI ARRESTED!

Rapper Big Boi, one half of the Grammy-winning duo OutKast, was arrested in Miami Sunday on drug-related charges. The 36-year-old, whose real name is Antwan Patton, was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, and one count of drug paraphernalia. Big Boi was exiting a cruise ship when a customs official caught him with ecstasy, MDMA powder (the main ingredient in ecstasy) and Viagra, which he did not have a prescription for.   He was being held on $16,000 bail.

SIMON WANTED MARIAH FOR X FACTOR!

Simon Cowell on Friday confirmed the rumors that he wanted Mariah Carey for X Factor, only she decided to get knocked up instead.  “She’s been very enthusiastic about the show, but then she selfishly got pregnant, which is why she didn't end up as a judge,” said Simon, adding that she “wanted to be involved with the show from day one.” Simon says he hopes he can find a place for her in the future.  He explained, “We have to find a role for her. I'm a huge fan of hers – not just as an artist, but as a person, and I love her to death." Although Simon does see one problem with adding Mariah to the program. Said Simon, “We just can't shut Paula [Abdul] and Nicole [Scherzinger] up, add Mariah into the mix as well and you won't even have anyone singing.”

ABC APOLOGIZES FOR MINAJ NIP SLIP!

ABC on Friday was forced to apologize after singer Nicki Minaj’s nipple slipped out during a live Good Morning America concert from Central Park’s Rumsey Playfield.  (Note: pic is NSFW) "Although we had a five-second delay in place for the Nicki Minaj concert on GMA, the live East Coast feed of the concert regrettably included certain fleeting images of the performer that were taken out of later feeds of the broadcast in other time zones,” read a statement by the network. “We are sorry that this occurred.”

ASHTON SHOOTS FIRST MEN EPISODE/DETAILS ON CHARLIE’S DEATH!

Ashton Kutcher shot his first episode of Two and a Half Men Friday night and by all accounts it was a success.  In an attempt to keep details of the opener a secret, audience members reportedly only saw parts of the funeral scene, and Charlie Harper’s death was referred to only as an “accident.”  (TMZ  nabbed pictures of what appears to be a funeral set, featuring pews, flowers and Harper's trademark outfit, a bowling shirt and shorts, hanging at the front of the chapel.) According to TMZ, witnesses reported that Ashton and co-star Jon Cryer seemed to have good chemistry and that Ashton went out of his way to mingle with the audience. Meanwhile, as much as producers tried to keep details of Charlie’s death a secret, TMZ seems to have uncovered some info. According to the site,  Charlie had married Rose (Melanie Lynskey) his neighbor/stalker, whom he flew to Paris with last season. But as soon as they got to Paris she found him in the shower with another woman, and a day later while they were waiting for a train, Charlie “slipped” in the subway, and was crushed. The  inference is that Rose pushed Charlie and somehow got away with it.  Meanwhile, Charlie Sheen says he plans to tune in September 19^th to see how he’s killed off. He tells TMZ, “I will be watching my fake funeral, attended by my fake ex-girlfriends, from my very, very real movie theater, with my very real hotties in tow."

Victoria and David Beckham just can’t stop showing off their latest bundle of joy. Over the weekend, Victoria posted a shot of daddy David cuddling adorable Harper Seven, who is just about a month old.  "I took this beautiful picture and wanted to share it with you, baby Harper cuddling Daddy! x VB," Victoria Tweeted Sunday morning. 

A NEW MAN FOR EMMA WATSON!

Harry Potter star Emma Watson may have a new beau. The actress was spotted in L.A. last week getting very cozy with actor Johnny Simmons, her co-star in the upcoming movie The Perks of Being a Wallflower.  Us Weekly reports that on Thursday, Simmons was seen dropping Emma off at a Santa Monica restaurant, and the couple didn’t look like they wanted to part.  One witness says they “looked very loved up,” adding that they were, “Holding and hugging each other for a while and playfully kissing. [They] seemed very open and not trying to hide their affection."

HOW JEN FOUND OUT ABOUT BRAD AND ANGIE!

A new book claims that Jennifer Aniston threw Brad Pitt out after he confessed to being in love with Angelina Jolie.  Radaronline reports that in Confidential: The Life of Secret Agent Turned Hollywood Tycoon, Mr. & Mrs. Smith producer Arnon Milchan spills the beans about how things ended between Brad and Jen. According to Milchan, Brad had initially dropped out of Mr. & Mrs. Smith because he and original co-star Nicole Kidman had no chemistry. Then when Nicole dropped out of the film, and producers decided to go with Angelina, Brad was quick to come back, with the book’s authors suggesting that he was interested in Angie right away.   Jen had heard rumors that something was going on between Brad and Angie, but at first refused to believe it. Eventually she asked Brad point blank if anything was going on and he denied it, but during a New Year’s trip to the Caribbean in 2005, Brad confessed. "He eventually admitted he was in love with Angelina. Jen was furious and threw him out," authors Meir Doran and Joseph Gelman write.  A week later the pair announced their split, and then Jen filed for divorce three months later after seeing pictures of Brad with Angie and her son Maddox on the beach in Africa.

ETHAN HAWKE & WIFE WELCOME SECOND DAUGHTER!

Ethan Hawke is a dad again. People reports that the actor and his wife Ryan welcomed their second child together two weeks ago, a girl named Indiana. The pair is already parents to daughter Clementine, age 3. Hawke also has two kids with ex-wife Uma Thurman, Maya, 13, and Levon, 9.

INTRODUCING…ANNE HATHAWAY AS CATWOMAN!

Warner Bros. last week released the first official photo of Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, a.k.a. Catwoman, in the upcoming Batman flick The Dark Knight. Apparently, Anne has worked hard to get herself into shape for the role.  "Anne is working out five days a week," claims a source. "She's taking it very seriously and wants her body in tip-top condition." Meanwhile, police in Pittsburgh over the weekend issued a warning to citizens, letting them know that if they hear gunshots and explosions, it's probably coming from the set of The Dark Knight, which is filming around the Carnegie Mellon campus.

Another person who appears to be getting into shape is Gerard Butler. The 41-year-old Scottish actor stepped out in Hollywood last week, looking noticeably trimmer than he has in the past.

AMY'S HOME TO HOUSE HER CHARITY!

Amy Winehouse's family plans to turn the singer's North London house into home base for her planned charity. The singer's dad Mitch said the Amy Winehouse Foundation will aid "causes close to (Amy's) heart." "It could include help for children in trouble, kids suffering health problems, children's hospices and more," said Mitch. "We want to make a positive difference." And the charity already has a source of income. A single Amy recorded with music legend Tony Bennett will go on sale soon, with all profits going to the foundation.

CHARLIZE & RYAN ARE OVER!

Two months ago rumors claimed that Charlize Theron and Ryan Reynolds were dating. Well apparently their coupling was brief. According to Us Weekly, the duo's summer fling ended last month, allegedly because Ryan didn't want to get that serious. "He only wanted something casual, but she's in a rush to settle down, have kids and start a family since she's getting older," claims a source, who adds that Charlize "didn't take it very well when he broke it off. She knows deep down that it wouldn't have worked, but she is pretty bummed out about it all."

MR. BEAN CRASHES CAR!

British actor Rowan Atkinson, a.k.a. Mr. Bean, got into a terrible car accident on Friday, totaling his $1 million McLaren F1 sports car.  Atkinson was driving in the English countryside when the vehicle, which can go up to 240 miles per hour, spun several times, smashed into a tree and drove through a road sign before finally catching fire on the opposite side of the road.  Atkinson was then taken to a hospital, where he was treated for a fractured shoulder blade. 

SCHWARZENEGGER FLIGHT ATTENDANT SUES OVER LOVE CHILD CLAIMS!

A flight attendant who once worked for Arnold Schwarzenegger is suing several publications which falsely claimed she had a "love child" with the Terminator star. Tammy Tousignant, who worked on Arnold's private plane from 1987-1999, and her husband Tom are suing Gawker, TheNational Enquirer, and the Daily Mail, which ran reports  claiming Tammy had an affair with Arnold and her son Tanner is his kid.   The couple is seeking compensation in excess of $10 million.

ROSEANNE RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT!

A new presidential candidate has thrown their hat in the ring – Roseanne Barr. During an appearance on The Tonight Show last week, Barr told the audience, "I am running for President of the United States. I'm not for either party because they both suck and they're both a bunch of criminals. So I made up my own party. It's the Green Tea Party." While the whole thing sounds like a joke, Barr insisted, "I'm totally serious. Cause I want to be part of the debates, because I want to represent the tax payer. In fact, I'm choosing the tax payers as my vice president."

MARK WAHLBERG THINKS HIS ACTING DAYS ARE NUMBERED!

It sounds like Mark Wahlberg is feeling the pressure from today's crop of new Hollywood stars, specifically Twilight'sTaylor Lautner. "I'm sitting at a table with a gentleman who is better looking than you and is in better shape than me," Wahlberg told Leonardo DiCaprio at last week's Hollywood Foreign Press Association luncheon in L.A. "So we're both out of a job dude. Taylor Lautner! We're screwed." The crowd couldn't help but laugh at the remarks, at which point the 40-year-old Mark added, "It's over dude. Titanic and Boogie Nights were a long time ago. I accept it. I had a good run and on to the next." As for how Taylor reacted to Mark's comment, he told E!, "Hearing words like that from Mark and everybody it's just really surreal."
