This film image released by Paramount Pictures shows Katy Perry in a scene from her 3D film, "Katy Perry: Part of Me."

Katy Perry reportedly turned down a $20 million deal that would have made her an American Idol judge.

TMZ says producers "desperately wanted" the singer to fill in after Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez left the show earlier this year.

Sources tell the gossip blog that Katy rejected the offer because her "schedule made it impossible to do the show [and] she just didn't think it was right career choice for her."

Mariah Carey reportedly signed on for $18 million. Other names being thrown around as Mariah's possible co-judge are Keith UrbanNick Jonas, Nicki Minaj and Kanye West.
