Only one impact matchup on the schedule for Thursday night, but you can catch all three through your computer screen.
The MAC has already given us some really entertaining basketball in the non-conference season and on Thursday night we get to see one of the more fun teams to watch in the conference match up with a B1G time foe. Three men's basketball teams are in action, but there is clearly one game with more intrigue than the rest.
|Austin Peay||Central Michigan||7:00 pm||MACDN|
|Western Carolina||Kent State||7:00 pm||MACDN|
|Bowling Green||Wisconsin||8:00 pm||ESPN3|
In case the introductory paragraph didn't give you enough of a hint, the game of the night is clearly the matchup between the Bowling Green Falcons and the Wisconsin Badgers. Wisconsin is a powerful and experienced bunch that just got a career night out of Frank Kaminski. When the Badgers have everything going, they play a punishing style of basketball that promises a low-scoring game. Nonethless, catch this game on ESPN3.
Kent State will face a Western Carolina squad that has already played five games this year, with two of them coming against BCS conference schools. WCU has gotten some solid mid-major wins over UNC-Asheville, Liberty and Wittenberg, while falling to Oregon and Virginia Tech. The Golden Flashes have challenged themselves in the early going, splitting a pair of big games against Temple and Seton Hall. As long as Kris Brewer, Derek Jackson and Darren Goodson are out there doing their thing, this is worth a watch.
Austin Peay and Central Michigan is probably the game you can leave alone. Although, there is this part of the equation.
Now for the women's games.
|Bradley||Northern Illinois||8:00 pm||None|
|Central Michigan||Marquette||8:00 pm||None|
If you can tune in at work, you can catch Ohio play one of the best women's basketball teams in the country. If not, you'll likely just miss a mauling. The Lady Bobcats are 2-0, but they have not faced the No. 4 team in the country. It will be a fun game, though.
NIU plays host to Bradley and CMU heads to Wisconsin for a matchup with a Big East school to round out the schedule. Be sure to stay tuned on Twitter for updates, especially from one Bryan M. Vance. He loves him some Lady Bobcats basketball.
