There comes a time in everyone’s lives where they have to admit one simple fact: they are in love with Zac Efron. And while we were comfortable enough to come to terms with it years ago, we wouldn’t blame you if your moment was right now.
Why? Because on Thursday when Zac stopped by The Ellen Show, he performed a song especially for Ellen, and even though the only lyrics in the song were “Happy birthday, Ellen,” it was an absolutely adorable moment.
“I kind of thought, like, what do you give somebody on their birthday that kind of has everything like you do,” Zac said. “I don’t really play guitar — and where’s Taylor Swiftwhen you need her — but I kind of just figured out how to play this last night.”
The audience clapped along as Zac sang his song to Ellen, who absolutely loved it (as any sane person would)... and wasn’t afraid to point out, “You didn’t write that song!”
After the musical portion of Zac’s guest spot was over, Ellen proceeded to embarrass Zac with old photos of himself as a child — and a home video of Zac’s dad pushing him down while they were ice skating together. Love it!
Ellen also made sure to show off a picture of Zac’s cute little tushy in a scene from That Awkward Moment, too. We’ve seen it before, but we’re not going to turn that visual down. Thanks, Ellen! Is it our birthday, too?
“Before we even finished filming [the movie], that picture came out, so that was the first thing anybody knew about movie,” Zac admitted. “My parents were calling me, going ‘What the hell is this picture?’”
