The housewife, who has been fighting the tick-borne illness since last year, recently took to Twitter to share a photo of her struggles.
“❤Fighting my battle Swiss Style! Love & Light to my fellow Lymies out there,” Yolanda tweeted, alongside a photo of herself with an IV in her arm in what appears to be a hospital bed. “#Hangtough #LymeDisease.”
Yolanda revealed that she had been diagnosed with the disease back in December when she tweeted that she was getting a port implanted in her arm as part of treatment. The star has since gotten the port removed, but apparently continues to struggle with the disease’s effects.
Earlier this year, Yolanda spoke to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live about the onset of her illness. “The Lyme disease has so severely affected my brain functioning that it was extremely hard for me to think, form sentences, and stay focused,” Yolanda said. After realizing something wasn’t right, Yolanda went to the doctor and was diagnosed with the disease. The Real Housewives star continues to serve as an inspiration to others struggling with Lyme disease.
Wishing you the best, Yolanda!
