On Once Upon a Time, it’s not unusual for someone’s life to be in danger, especially when major fights are involved. However, it was still a shock when Prince Charming took a hit, leaving him not bloody, but poisoned — and he’s keeping it a secret from his friends and family.
In Season 3, Episode 2: “Lost Girl,” a full-on battle broke out between Peter Pan’s Lost Boys and our favorite fairy tale characters, and there were seemingly no casualties. However, when David was alone at the end of the episode, he unveiled the slice in his chest from a poison arrow, which looked painful and magically deadly.
While we know of Dreamshade — the poison the Lost Boys’ arrows are laced with — because Hook used some on Rumplestiltskin once, it has a different effect on Charming. With him keeping it a secret, it will only grow worse, too.
“Dreamshade is a nasty, nasty, nasty deal, and [Charming]‘s going to have a major secret on his hands,” portrayer Josh Dallas told reporters (via TVLine). In addition to being in severe pain, Charming will also be… not-so-Charming.
“I think it does change his personality, because it changes how he thinks,” Josh added. “He’s living a kind of duality in front of some people.” Because of that, it will make the Neverland trip that much crazier, stressful, and potentially make it seem impossible.
“It’s going to test him, and that’s what Neverland does,” Josh concluded. “Neverland tests all these characters.”
What do you think will happen to David now that he’s infected with Dreamshade? Sound off below, and catch the next episode of Once Upon a Time on Sunday, October 13 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
