Despite suffering a major injury at the end of last week's routine, Dancing With the Stars 2013 hopeful Bill Nye the Science Guy put on a brave face and gave the ballroom all he could during Week 3 of the competition. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to keep him and his newbie partner Tyne Stecklein around for another week.
While he remained positive about recovering from his partially-torn ligament, Bill's elimination was perhaps a blessing in disguise. His one-legged robot-themed Jazz number was entertaining but lacked technicality, and his injury sounded like it needed more time to heel properly.
"You don't regret the things you do; you regret the things you don't do," Bill said before taking to the dance floor one last time. In the end, it was his unbreakable spirit and humor that we'll miss most about Bill. He was never one to back away from a challenge, and even though he wasn't Season 17's best dancer, he was certainly one of its more memorable performers.
Surprisingly, Christina Milian and her pro partner Mark Ballas joined Bill and Tyne in the bottom two, so it looks like this pair is going to really have to step up their game next week.
Do you think the right person went home? Or did America — and the judges — get it all wrong? Should Bill have stayed another week? Sound off in the comments!
