Amanda Zuckerman is arguably the most controversial contestant on Big Brother 15 — a season now infamous for … uh … challenging houseguests.
Amanda, 28, a real estate agent originally from Long Island and now living in Boynton Beach, Florida, is one half of the summer’s most enduring showmance, “McCranda.”
Amanda and McCrae Olson connected pretty early in the season, and even had a fake wedding on the show, despite Amanda saying in her cast video that she was “not single” going into the house. In that video, she noted that showmances had not worked well for people in the past. There’s a bit of a sordid soap opera twist to her not single status; it was revealed on the live feeds that Amanda was pregnant just before coming onto the show. As Amanda told it, she was with her boyfriend and on birth control when she got pregnant, but she was “only 3 days pregnant” when she miscarried the baby. Elissa reportedly accused Amanda of having an abortion so she could be on the show. This is part of the bad blood between the two of them.
Anyway, in her CBS bio, Amanda said three adjectives that describe her are “Confident, sexy and funny!” Her favorite activities are “Horseback riding, hiking, shopping and going to movies.” Her pre-season plan: “My strategy is to find common ground with everyone and share individual time- and secrets to earn their trust. Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer.”
That’s pretty telling. This is too. When asked which past BB cast members she liked most and least, she said, “Most – I love Britney! She’s hilarious, real and played an awesome game. Least – Jen from Big Brother 8 because she was fake, annoying and conceited.” Jen was known for being “bullied” by Evel Dick, who insulted her and even poured tea on her head. Before Amanda went on her tirade against BB15’s Elissa, she said she was going to go Evel Dick on her.
Asked about the accomplishment she’s most proud of, she said, “I’m proud of where I have brought myself to in my career.” If she wins Big Brother and the show makes her famous, she said, “I would use my fame to further my real estate career and ride the five minute fame wave.”
However, according to Gossiping Pens, Amanda may have lost her realtor's license. They say she works with her mother, but she was employed by Prudential Florida, and Amanda's name was removed from the Boca Raton Prudential Florida website. Head here for details on that, although it's not clear if she's really out or not.
It is clear that some fans want her booted from the Big Brother house for her bullying behavior. They started a Change.org petition to oust her, and it has more than 13,000 signatures.
There’s also a rumor that BB15 is rigged in Amanda’s favor. In July, an alleged former CBS employee said Amanda has been friends for years with BB executive producer Allison Grodner, and Amanda was pre-selected to win the $500,000. Fans were told they would see how challenges were skewed in her favor as the season progressed, if Amanda looked to be in danger.
Amanda previously vied for a spot on CBS's Big Shot Live, a reality show from 2008. She also said on the live feeds that she was a finalist to be cast on the last season of The Bachelor. It’s not hard to believe, considering the “villains” they like to cast on that show too.
Big Brother 15 airs Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday nights on CBS.
