Deep breath, everybody. After last week's horrific episode, we'll admit we were afraid to watch the next installment of Downton Abbey Season 4. But rest assured, the January 19 episode doesn't hold any twists as nasty as the one from January 12. In fact, this one even has a little romance in store!
If you're looking for a more general overview, we've got some episodic details with minimal spoilage as well as a look back at what went down in Season 3. Of course, if you really want to know what's on the horizon, we've got plenty of information in our Season 4 roundup seeing as we watched the season while it aired in the U.K. We're lucky, we know.
Too much information? Just want a quick look at what's planned for the new episode, on tonight at 9 p.m. on PBS? Keep on reading. We've avoided any major spoilers in our brief summary of the episode so you can plan your TV viewing accordingly.
We're getting out of the Abbey for awhile and heading to London, which is good news since we could really use a change of scenery after last week's episode. Rose MacClare (Lily James) leads a pleasure seeking party to the big city where she, Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery), and a few handsome gentlemen callers take in a local jazz club. It's there that we'll bump into the show's first leading African American character, Jack Ross (Gary Carr).
Also in London, Lady Edith continues to bend the rules as she and her editorial lover, Michael Gregson (Charles Edwards), take their relationship to the next level, much to the dismay of Aunt Rosamund (Samantha Bond).
