Is Downton Abbey on tonight? Is Downton Abbey on tonight?! You better believe Downton Abbey is on tonight. The show's fourth season comes to an end this evening (February 23) in a two-hour extravaganza so big it debuted on Christmas Day back in the United Kingdom.
Seeing as the show first aired almost two months ago, we can fill you in on exactly what to expect but only if you don't mind being spoiled.
Need a refresh on what all went down during last week's episode? We also have those details and, in case you haven't heard, there's one major upset that could have potentially huge consequences for the Season 4 finale and beyond. We've also got a brief summary of this evening's events if you're not in the mood (yet) for major show spoilers.
Overwhelmed yet? Already tearing up because you have to say goodbye to another season of Downton Abbey? Well, wipe those eyes because we've got a quick peek at what's ahead starting at 9 p.m. tonight on PBS. Keep on reading for details!
It's the end of another season and while the finale originally aired at Christmas in the UK, it's nothing but summer sunshine in tonight's episode. The London Season has officially started and Rose MacClare (Lily James) takes center stage as she's presented to the Royal Family. Yes, the Royal Family. Prince William's not so ancient relatives make an appearance in tonight's episode.
Also in London are the Crawleys' American relatives: Cora's outspoken mother Martha Levinson (Shirley MacLaine) and her brother, new character Harold Levinson (Paul Giamatti). They bring a fresh breeze from the west that might not bode well for some members of the family.
Meanwhile, the downstairs staff gets a surprise courtesy of Mr. Carson (Jim Carter) while Anna (Joanne Froggatt) and Mr. Bates (Brendan Coyle) continue to figure out what life has in store for them next.
