You read right: American Idol is on tonight, a Tuesday! The show has three evenings of glory planned for us this week as we gear up for Season 13's Live Shows. Expect plenty of twists ahead as judges Keith Urban, Harry Connick, Jr., and Jennifer Lopez cut the contestants down to just 13!
Where can we expect to spend the week, then? More Hollywood Week? On to Vegas? Actually, neither of the two. Idol is introducing a new twist to the show called Rush Week (which, granted, is probably still set in California but you know). Why such a Greek-themed title? Sadly, it's not because Harry Connick will be wearing nothing but a toga this evening. Instead, we think it might have something to do with the downright rush the contestants will be in to prove they deserve a spot in the Top 13.
Last we heard, Rush Week will feature the top 15 girls competing for two hours on Tuesday, February 18, followed by the top 15 boys for two hours on Wednesday, February 19. Then, come Thursday, we'll have our first results show for one hour as host Ryan Seacrest announces who got one of the coveted 13 spots. If you've been keeping track, that means we'll be saying our goodbyes to a whopping 17 contestants by the end of the week.
Sound hard to watch? We're sure it will be but the talent that'll come from such severe cuts is bound to be some of the best Idol has ever had the pleasure of presenting to America.
You as excited as we are to rush? Tell us in the comments!
