Much like the earlier parts of this year of American Idol, Season 13 is full of twists and turns that we’ve never seen before. Replacing Vegas Round is the all-new Rush Week, a highly-emotional, intensive round which promises to narrow down our Top 31 to the remaining 13 who will compete for our votes in the finals.
Not all of the contestants will sing for the country, however, as Ryan Seacrest reveals that only 10 of the ladies will take the stage on February 18. Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr, and Keith Urban have reviewed the tapes of the contestants and will be calling them one-by-one to perform... leaving five of them brokenhearted.
Next up is 20-year-old MK Nobilette, who decides to take it down a notch with a simple, heartfelt rendition of “All of Me” by John Legend. Up until this point, MK has flown relatively under the radar, but her ability to be a “quiet storm” keeps the judges falling in love with her again and again. Can she do it once again for America’s votes?
“That was the perfect song choice,” says Keith, following her performance. “There’s such simplicity. There’s a transparency. There’s a vulnerability in your humanness. It just comes through with such effortlessness. That was a really beautiful performance.”
Will MK make it through to the Top 13? The choice is up to you! Vote by calling 1-855-4-IDOL-09 or text 9 to 83676.
