Much like the earlier parts of this year of American Idol, Season 13 is full of twists and turns that we’ve never seen before. Replacing Vegas Round is the all-new Rush Week, a highly-emotional, intensive round which promises to narrow down our Top 31 to the remaining 13 who will compete for our votes in the finals.
Not all of the contestants will sing for the country, however, as Ryan Seacrest reveals that only 10 of the ladies will take the stage on February 18. Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr, and Keith Urban have reviewed the tapes of the contestants and will be calling them one-by-one to perform... leaving five of them brokenhearted.
Next up is 18-year-old Marrialle Sellars, who decides to take on “Roar” by Katy Perry. She admits that she can get caught up in the moment and let the song overwhelm her, with mentor and Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert seems to agree with. Will she be able to channel her inner calm and confidence and deliver a stellar performance?
“Your voice and your ability to perform is much better than what that was tonight,” says Keith. “That was not the best song for you to shine on, that wasn’t the best tempo for you. It all came off too karaoke. You’re much better than that.”
Will Marrialle make it through to the Top 13? The choice is up to you! Vote by calling 1-855-4-IDOL-06 or text 6 to 83676.
