Much like the earlier parts of this year of American Idol, Season 13 is full of twists and turns that we’ve never seen before. Replacing Vegas Round is the all-new Rush Week, a highly-emotional, intensive round which promises to narrow down our Top 31 to the remaining 13 who will compete for our votes in the finals.
Not all of the contestants will sing for the country, however, as Ryan Seacrest reveals that only 10 of the ladies will take the stage on February 18. Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr, and Keith Urban have reviewed the tapes of the contestants and will be calling them one-by-one to perform... leaving five of them brokenhearted.
Next up is 24-year-old Kristen O’Connor, who decides to take a risk with “Turning Tables” by Adele. Season 5 contestant Chris Daughtry returns as a mentor for the evening, praising her voice and saying she gave him chills. Will the judges feel a similar way when she takes the stage to give her final performance?
“You have one of the most special tones of voice that people are gonna hear tonight,” says J.Lo. “I can hear you recording records, like, tomorrow. This performance tonight — you know, in the beginning, the timing was off with the band, but halfway through you locked in and all of sudden people were like, ‘She’s amazing!’ And you are amazing. This is the tip of the iceberg with someone like you.”
Will Kristen make it through to the Top 13? The choice is up to you! Vote by calling 1-855-4-IDOL-02 or text 2 to 83676.
