We’ve reached the final round of American IdolHollywood Week, and let’s just say the process has been a doozy! Grueling rehearsals, clashing personalities, and mounting illnesses have all taken their toll on the contestants — not to mention the possibility of their dreams coming crashing down around them.
That said, some of the hopefuls seem more than ready to compete for the semi-finals, including 21-year-old Jillian Jensen. We first met the brunette beauty back in Boston auditions where she wowed the judges with her soulful rendition of Gavin DeGraw’s “Not Over You.” Since then, the former X Factor competitor has worked her way up the ranks, proving time and again that she’s got the talent to sing for America’s votes.
When Jillian takes the stage for her final performance of Hollywood, she goes out on a limb by performing an original song. While the choice is risky for any American Idol competitor, Jillian’s confident in her talent as both a singer and a writer. After taking the long and nerve-racking ride on the elevator, Jillian sits in front of the judges to learn her fate.
“One of the hardest things I’ve ever been a part of is putting together the Top 30 for American Idol,” Harry explains. “We’re looking for people who can really, really win. But then you start thinking: Is it about singing? Is it about artistry? The three of us have different opinions. Sometimes we agree and sometimes we don’t. [...] But you’re in the Top 15 [girls]!”
And with that, Jillian’s made it through to the next round!
