Much like the earlier parts of this year of American Idol, Season 13 is full of twists and turns that we’ve never seen before. Replacing Vegas Round is the all-new Rush Week, a highly-emotional, intensive round which promises to narrow down our Top 31 to the remaining 13 who will compete for our votes in the finals.
Not all of the contestants will sing for the country, however, as Ryan Seacrest reveals that only 10 of the ladies will take the stage on February 18. Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr, and Keith Urban have reviewed the tapes of the contestants and will be calling them one-by-one to perform... leaving five of them brokenhearted.
Next up is 17-year-old Jena Irene Asciutto, who decides to take on the classic “Paint It Black” by the Rolling Stones. Season 5 contestant Chris Daughtry returns as a mentor for the evening and seems worried about her lack of confidence. Will she be able to pull it together to wow America and the judges?
“You’ve been one of my favorites since the audition cities,” says Keith following her performance. “There’s a poise about you that’s very calm and you’re very confident, but it comes across with a cool balance of everything I like in a performer. I thought it was really, really good.”
Will Jena make it through to the Top 13? The choice is up to you! Vote by calling 1-855-4-IDOL-04 or text 4 to 83676.
