We’ve reached the final round of American IdolHollywood Week, and let’s just say the process has been a doozy! Grueling rehearsals, clashing personalities, and mounting illnesses have all taken their toll on the contestants — not to mention the possibility of their dreams coming crashing down around them.
That said, some of the hopefuls seem more than ready to compete for the semi-finals, including 24-year-old Emmanuel Zidor. The singer’s had some ups and downs since we first met him back in San Francisco (like that rocky group performance of “Say My Name”), but he’s ready to show that he’s got what it takes it make it all the way to the end.
For his final solo in Hollywood, Emmanuel takes the stage with a fierce rendition of “I’m Goin’ Down” by Mary J. Blige. Even though he kills it with his performance, the nightmare of groups still haunts him. Biting his nails, he makes his way to the judges.
“There are so many people who sing so great and who have the same dream that you do,” says J.Lo to a tearful Emmanuel. “It’s been heartbreaking all day for us. But I guess the next time I see you, I’ll just bring you the pair of shoes.”
And with that, Emmanuel has made it through to the Top 30!
