Much like the earlier parts of this year of American Idol, Season 13 is full of twists and turns that we’ve never seen before. Replacing Vegas Round is the all-new Rush Week, a highly-emotional, intensive round which promises to narrow down our Top 31 to the remaining 13 who will compete for our votes in the finals.
Not all of the contestants will sing for the country, however, as Ryan Seacrest reveals that only 10 of the ladies will take the stage on February 18. Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr, and Keith Urban have reviewed the tapes of the contestants and will be calling them one-by-one to perform... leaving five of them brokenhearted.
Next up is 17-year-old Briana Oakley, who sets out to prove she’s got what it takes with “Warrior” by Demi Lovato. Briana admits that her need for perfection sometimes gets in the way of connecting with the audience, which the vocal coaches all seem to agree with. Will Briana be able to break down her walls and move America to vote her through?
“When you first came out, you looked a little bit scared to me,” says J.Lo following her performance. “But there’s no doubt that you’re like a young Whitney Houston. You have that range, you have that voice. What’s gonna have to come together is the performance quality and the connection to what you’re singing for you really to shine. Hopefully you’ll get that chance.”
Will Briana make it through to the Top 13? The choice is up to you! Vote by calling 1-855-4-IDOL-03 or text 3 to 83676
