Some people are Prisoners to their round-the-clock eating habits, but not Viola Davis. (See what we did there?)
The 48-year-old two-time Oscar nominee is losing weight for a role in the upcoming James Brown biopic Get on Up by adopting the same diet with which her Prisoners co-star Hugh Jackman shed pounds to play the ultra-jacked Wolverine.
The regimen calls for 16 hours of fasting per day, but there's an upside, as she explains to People.
"For eight hours in that day, you eat anything you want," Viola explains. "They tell you not to binge, but you choose those eight hours."
Viola tells the magazine that the change will be subtle. "[I'm] losing a little weight. When I say 'a little,' I mean 'a little,'" she says, adding that she's really not a "weight girl."
Viola will play the funk founding father's mother, Susie, in the film — which will reunite her with The Help co-star Octavia Spencer.
And the diet isn't even making her moody: "I'm not a cranky person," she says.
Let's get this straight: She's dieting but not grouchy about it? Is she superpowered?
"I'm one of those people that will wake up in the middle of the night and dig through my drawer for some candy — and put it in my mouth and chew it as I go back to sleep," she says.
OK, phew, she is human.
