Do you have one of those houses in your neighborhood? You know the one — every Halloween they’ve got the gravestones, the witch who flies at your face, the spider on a string, the hyper-realistic, bloody dead body under a truck tire in the driveway. Wait… what was that last one again?
One neighborhood in Mustang, Oklahoma, knows exactly what we’re talking about. News 9 Oklahoma reports that Johnny Mullins takes Halloween very seriously. In his defense, Mullins says that he’s "just trying to scare people, that's what I like to do."
Mission accomplished, Johnnie! In Mullins’ driveway one realistic looking bloody body appears crumpled under a truck, it’s head apparently squashed by a tire, and another appears to have gotten its head caught in the garage door, complete with a huge blood spatter on the front of the white garage.
Mullins claims he’s just trying to be festive, but one neighbor was so scared they were prompted to call 911 after driving by the scene. Neighborhood resident Rebecca Fuentes told News 9 that the decorations terrify her, and she’s worried what the area kids will think. She says, "My heart about came out of my chest. I thought ‘Oh my God. If I think it's real, just think of what a child would think?”
Police and firefighters responding to the 911 call let Mullins know he wasn’t doing anything illegal, but he might want to tone things down a bit. He’s decided not to take the decor down, saying, “It’s Halloween, I don’t think it’s too far.” He’s even added another body to the gruesome tableau.
Families might want to avoid this house on Halloween night — we’re guessing old Mr. Mullins might have some special “tricks” in store!
