Now that we’ve had a few moments to process all the moments that happened during Season 5, Episode 4 (“For Whom the Bell Tolls”), we’re reeling from the massive feels attack that The Vampire Diaries has served us on a silver platter.
When we read the synopsis and learned that Jeremy Gilbert (Steven R. McQueen) was going to tell Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) something shocking on Remembrance Day, we had our money on the fact that he was finally going to reveal that Bonnie Bennett (Kat Graham) had died and was chilling on the Other Side. But what we actually got was way more emotional than what happened.
Seeing Bonnie’s pals — notably Caroline Forbes (Candice Accola) and Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) — get emotional over her passing was almost too much to handle, but when Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino) waltzed back in and into Caroline’s arms, our Forwood feels were in overdrive. At first we wanted to slap him for breaking the news to Caroline over the phone that he was deferring college for the semester, but when we saw tears streaming down Caroline’s face, we were glad she had a shoulder to cry on.
It was great seeing Delena and Forwood leaning on each other during this emotional moment, but we’re even more excited to see what the next episode will hold for Caroline and Tyler now that he’s returned from Appalachia.
Were you surprised to see Tyler return to Mystic Falls tonight? Hit the comments and let us know!Catch The Vampire Diaries on Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
