The divorce is pretty final but not that happy for TV Land's Happily Divorced.
According to Deadline, the network has ended the show after two seasons.
Happily Divorced was based on the real-life experiences of star Fran Drescher; she played a woman named Fran (naturally) who re-enters the dating world after discovering her husband (played by John Michael Higgins) is gay. The show co-starred Rita Moreno as Fran's mother and guest starred Joan Collins as herself.
The series premiere reportedly brought in 2.4 million viewers, which is nice and healthy for cable. Season 1 had 10 episodes, but Season 2 went up to 24. The second season started with 1.4 million viewers and averaged 1.5 million before the final episodes started last November, bringing in 1.3 million.
Apparently that's not enough. The last new episodes aired in February. TV Land also canceled Retired at 35. Still around are Hot in Cleveland, The Exes, The Soul Man, and new shows Kirstie, Jennifer Falls, and Younger.
Are you sorry to see Happily Divorced find an unhappy ending?
