Transformers director Michael Bay is used to working with high tech equipment in his movies, but it was a low tech gadget (a Teleprompter) that caused him to walk off stage at CES on Monday, RumorFix has learned.
The movie mogul was in Las Vegas to help promote Samsung’s new 105-inch curved UHD television, but as he was talking on stage — he lost his place on the prompter and said, “Uhhh, the type is all off — sorry, but I’ll just wing this.”
He tried, but couldn’t find his place, so the director politely told Samsung Executive Vice President Joe Stinziano, “Excuse me I’m sorry” and he walked off stage.
Michael explained himself on his website, writing: “Wow! I just embarrassed myself at CES…”
He continued “I rarely lend my name to any products, but this one is just stellar. I got so excited to talk, that I skipped over the Exec VP’s intro line and then the teleprompter got lost. Then the prompter went up and down – then I walked off. I guess live shows aren’t my thing. But I’m doing a special curved screen experience with Samsung and Transformers 4 footage that will be traveling around the world.”
By Tuesday, Michael was having fun with his faux pas, he even noted that he was trending on Twitter.
