Trace Adkins is the latest singer to cancel an upcoming concert series at SeaWorld as the marine park continues to generate controversy following the captive orca documentary Blackfish.
The 51-year-old country legend was scheduled to perform at the Orlando, Florida theme park on March 2 as part of their Bands, Brew & BBQ concert series.
A rep for the You’re Gonna Miss This singer told Country Weekly Thursday that “Trace prefers that the focus of his performances be on music, not on controversy. Therefore, he has decided not to proceed with this show in the midst of this debate.”
A number of other country music acts have cancelled their appearances at Sea World in wake of the Blackfish controversy, including Martina McBride, Willie Nelson and Trisha Yearwood.
