Start growing out your hair, Chris Hemsworth fans! Thor 3 is in the works! Marvel announced the thunderclap of a story via its website, telling fans not only that another installment is in the works, but who’s already on board!
Planning to take up the hammer once again is Craig Kyle, a producer on the first two movies, Thor and Thor: The Dark World. The new movie will mark his first as a full-time screenwriter as he transitions out of his role as Senior Vice President of Production and Development at Marvel Studios. He’ll be joining forces with Christopher Yost to pen the third script.
Chris, you may recall, co-wrote the Dark World screenplay, Marvel’s third highest grossing film ever. He and Craig have worked together before on other Marvelverse masterpieces including comics for X-Men, X-Force, and X-23.
So far, screenwriting assignments are all we’ve heard about concerning the next movie. There were two years in between the first golden-locked installment of the epic and it darker sequel, so we’d bet the next movie (our suggested title: Thor-ee) won’t debut until the end of 2015 at the very earliest.
We just hope Chris H. is still game to suit up. Watching him pound things into submission is one of the main reasons we love this franchise.
