There's no keeping a good villain down for long, and just when we thought we might finally be done with the "big bad" of The Walking Dead Season 3 and Season 4, he re-emerges for one last gasp — in print, anyway.
The fourth and final book in The Gov.'s series, The Walking Dead: The Fall of The Governor, Part Two, will be released on March 4. According to Entertainment Weekly, this novel will showcase the final face-off between Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and The Governor. We just saw the TV version of that in Season 4, Episode 8 this past December.
All four books were written by comic book writer/AMC show executive producer Robert Kirkman and Jay Bonansinga. The first, Rise of The Governor, was released in October 2011. The second novel, The Road to Woodbury, came out in October 2012. Because the next novel, The Fall of The Governor, turned out to be so long, they decided to release it in two parts — the first was released October 2013 and now the second part is coming out this Tuesday.
RK previously said he novel would end "pretty much the same place as in the comic" but from The Governor's perspective.
EW has an exclusive six-minute audio clip from the audiobook version of Part Two. FYI, it includes lots of curse words, in case you're listening from work or on the bus or something. The excerpt probably won't mean much to you unless you're up to date, but in addition to The Governor and Rick, the novel features other familiar names like Michonne, Penny and even Lilly, although she's not quite the same Lilly as the one on TV.
Have you read any or all of The Governor novels? Don’t let Snooki be a bigger fan than you!
The Walking Dead Season 4 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.Source:Entertainment Weekly
