Random speculation alert! This may seem like a strange question to be asking, and it kind of is, but The Walking Dead Season 4's Alanna Masterson (Tara) piqued our interest during her recent interview with AMC.
Alanna joined the show during The Governor’s (David Morrissey) standalone episodes in the first half of Season 4, when Tara spent most of her time with sister Lilly (Audrey Marie Anderson), Lilly's daughter Meghan (Meyrick Murphy), and One-Eyed Bri himself. As of Episode 11, Tara is with Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) and the three new characters: Abraham Ford, (Michael Cudlitz) Eugene Porter, (Josh McDermitt) and Rosita Espinosa (Christian Serratos).
AMC asked Alanna if she, as a young actress herself, had any advice for the child actors on the show. "I really only got to know the girl who plays my niece, Meyrick Murphy and she is awesome," Alanna said. "She is literally like an adult in a 9 year-old’s body. What makes a child actor normal and awesome is their parents. When I was on set, all my brothers were actors and my mom never let me get away with anything. If I was on a show, I didn’t get to run around like a psychotic child."
Speaking of psychotic children, does that suggest Alanna's character won't get to spend time with Lizzie (Brighton Sharbino), Mika (Kyla Kenedy) or Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs)? They are the zombie apocalypse kids of note (sorry Luke and Molly!), and if Alanna only got to know the girl who played Meghan ... is there meaning there? It doesn't mean Tara dies, but it could suggest bad things for Lizzie and Mika. And does Chandler count as a child actor anymore or is he a "man" now like Carl?
Maybe we're reading too much into things again, but if she "only" got to know one kid, that could gives hints to the future.
Tara’s new buddy (sort of) Glenn is trying to reunite with Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan), who is with Sasha(Sonequa Martin-Green) and Bob Stookey (Larry Gilliard Jr.). If those two storylines ever come together, there are still no kids involved. So Tara and the kids could all survive and be fine, but maybe they don't meet up until the season finale (if even then) when "many paths collide," possibly at Terminus.
What do you think is ahead for Tara? Will she see Season 5? Will any or all of the kids?
The Walking Dead Season 4 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.Source: AMC
