We’ve long wondered if we’d get another chance to see the eponymous patriarch of the Mikaelson clan on The Originals, and the answer is: yep! It seems that Mikael (Sebastian Roché) will make an appearance even sooner than we’d hoped. When is Mikael returning?
According to Sebastian Roché’s IMDB page, the actor will be appearing in both Season 1, Episode 15 (“Le Grand Guignol”) and Season 1, Episode 16 of the season — aka the second and third episodes to air once the show returns from its Olympic-caused hiatus on February 25. Now, before you get too excited, we’re expecting these appearances to occur in flashback form given what we know about developing storylines, but still. This is exciting news.
The synopsis for Episode 15 reveals: “In a series of flashbacks to 1919, Klaus opens up to Cami and reveals details of the devastating secret Rebekah and Marcel were trying to keep from him.” So, it seems the cat is out of the bag at this point — and that we will see what went down all those years ago. We’re actually quite intrigued to learn that Mikael will be appearing, as we’ve never been sure that his path crossed with his childrens’ when he came to New Orleans.
We hope to get some kind of epic confrontation between them all that results in much character revelation for our favorite vampire fam. Given that Sebastian will be in both episodes, we’re guessing his entrance will come as a dramatic flashback reveal at the end of Episode 15, to be followed by a continuing flashback storyline in Episode 16.
Are you as excited about this news as we are? Sound off in the comments below!
The Originals returns on Tuesday, February 25 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
