Now that The Originals has roared back to life, we’ve been going full speed ahead with the witchy storyline — and the Harvest Festival definitely took center stage in Episode 11 (“Après Moi, Le Déluge”). With Davina’s (Danielle Campbell) power boiling over, it was all hands on deck to save the teenage witch from the power building inside of her.
Sophie (Daniella Pineda) entered the scene with a strategy to save the young witch, by, you know, finally sacrificing her in the Harvest Festival. Sophie had come to believe that once it was completed, the four sacrifices would be resurrected and all would be right with the world again. Wrong.
She was able to convince the Mikaelsons, but Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) was more difficult to convince. He ended up witchnapping Davina, only for her to finally come to the realization that she was either going to create an apocalypse in New Orleans or she could go through with the Harvest Festival and potentially come back to life. After an extremely touching moment where these two reconnected, Marcel took Davina to meet her fate.
As soon as Sophie slit Davina’s neck and began the Reaping (aka the part of the Harvest Festival where the four sacrifices would come back to life), it quickly became apparent that it wasn’t going to happen. This caused a massive breakdown for Sophie and Marcel, with the other characters rallying around them.
Given the end of the episode, in which it was revealed that Sabina (Shannon Kane) revealed that she is actually Celeste (yeah, our jaws dropped too) and that she absorbed the power from Davina and the other sacrificed witches, we see a glimmer of hope that, if the power can be unleashed, the young witches can possibly come back to life.
