After losing his siblings to the witches’ control on the previous episode of The Originals, Elijah has to put aside his guilt to come to their rescue on Season 1, Episode 14 (“Long Way Back From Hell”). But something tells us nothing is going to be able to save Rebekah from Klaus’s wrath once he finds out her and Marcel’s dirty little secret.
In the latest installment of The Originals Producers’ Preview, executive producers Michael Narducci and Julie Plec, rehash Episode 13 — aka their “Empire Strikes Back episode” — and preview what’s ahead for Episode 14, specifically for Rebekah. “[Genevieve] takes Rebekah to a place that is familiar to Rebekah from 1919, a terribly rotted and abandoned old sanitorium where influenza patients were treated back during the influenza epidemic of New Orleans in 1918 and ‘19.”
We know Rebekah and Marcel roped Genevieve into their plan to bring Mikael to town back in 1919. Judging from the preview, it looks like Rebekah grew to consider the witch a friend. At one point, Rebekah tells Marcel she feels bad about manipulating her. “One little spell and we can finally be together for real,” Marcel tells her. One look into those puppy dog eyes, and we’re sure Rebekah forgot all about Genevieve.
Unfortunately, that’s all coming back to haunt Rebekah. According to Julie Plec, Genevieve is “hellbent on making sure that Klaus learns Rebekah’s secret.” And once that secret goes out, Rebekah is going to wish she would have stayed in the sanitorium.
