Damn the man. Save the Empire.
While CDs have, for the most part, come and gone, Empire Recordsstill holds a very special place in the hearts of an entire generation.
The 1995 movie — which followed the lives of a group of young independent record store employees trying to keep a corporate giant from buying them out over the course of one mayhem-filled day — became a cult hit, launching the career of many of the film's stars, including Liv Tyler, Renee Zellweger, and Robin Tunney.
Many of the male cast members, known by fans for their wide-ranging 90s-style appeal (think lots of long hair and flannel), got together for a mini-reunion, which was documented by star Ethan Embry.
Ethan, who starred as loveable burnout Marc, tweeted a photo of the group, including former cast members Johnny Whitworth (AJ), Brendan Sexton III (Warren), Coyote Shivers (Berko), and James Willis (Eddie).
"20 years later. Empire reunion. Can you spot Warren? Eddie? Berko? A.J.? Mark with a C?" challenged Ethan.
While many of the other cast members were conspicuously absent — including Liv, Renee, Robin, Anthony LaPaglia, and Rory Cochrane — the photo gave some glimmer of hope that there could be an updated sequel in the future. Apple Store, perhaps?
