Soulja Boy may owe his entire rap career to a little lyric about Superman, but unlike the man of steel, Soulja's having a little trouble flying these days.
The rapper, born DeAndre Cortez Way, was kicked off an American Airlines flight on Friday when he decided that all of those rules meant to keep passengers safe in the air just didn't apply to him.
Soulja was hanging out in the aisle of the first class cabin when the flight attendant asked everyone to find a seat to match their butt with. Soulja, who was, by that time, taking his daily constitutional up and down the cabin's hallway, refused the offer, choosing instead to continue doing what he was doing, so he was forcibly removed from the aircraft.
Despite the inconvenience he caused, Soulja Boy was apologetic about the situation, telling TMZ of the event, "It was a bad night and me and the flight staff didn’t see eye to eye. In hindsight, I’m extremely sorry for all inconvenience caused to the passengers and employees of the airline."
Next time, if you're going to have to issue an immediate mea culpa, maybe it's best to avoid going stone cold weirdo on the plane — or if you insist, maybe work out a back-up plan, like getting those Superman skills operating at something slightly closer to full capacity, perhaps?
