Sienna Miller is topless for the cover of Esquire UK‘s February issue, but what’s even more interesting is her interview with the publication.
The star fell off the grid a few years ago, and she completely blames herself.
“I sabotaged things,” she tells Esquire, adding, “I burnt a lot of bridges. I was by no means an innocent,” she said. “But I had faith in the goodness of everyone. I was very open. That led me into all sorts of situations that backfired.”
Sienna says she got so caught up in her personal life and media attention she was receiving, especially during her tumultuous relationship with Jude Law. As a result, she says, she stopped getting offered movie roles. “People don’t want to see films with people they don’t approve of in them,” and she stepped aside,” the actress explains.
That’s when Miller “deliberately disappeared,” she reveals, “I was sick of myself, to be honest, or sick of that perception of me. It all felt so f—ing dirty.”
But then things changed for the star after she and fiance Tom Sturridge welcomed their first daughter in July 2012.
She finally came to the brilliant realization, “When you’re in some massive crisis and you look at yourself in a close-up,” the actress quips, “you realize just how f—ing insignificant you are. I think that’s really the greatest thing I’ve learned: that I don’t matter. Nothing matters. It’s such a relief to know that. I didn’t get that job – it doesn’t f—ing matter. Whatever I achieve, or don’t, will be forgotten, it’s not important.”
Wow, well said Sienna.
