The ScandalSeason 3 premiere hit us with huge reveals, betrayals, and shocking moments, and Episode 2 is going to continue that trend. In the short but revealing promo for next week’s episode, the truth is coming out — and no one is ready for it.
It was only a matter of time before Olivia Pope was called in to fix the mess that saved her. After she yelled at the Gladiators — “What did you do?!” — she set to help clear Jeannine Locke’s name as the president’s mistress, taking the podium to explain that Jeannine “absolutely positively did not have sex” with Fitz.
Given that the end of the premiere revealed that Fitz was the one who leaked Olivia’s name to the press, as we see her exclaim, “I’m going to go for blood” on the phone and Fitz replying, “Go for the jugular,” either she doesn’t know this shocking intel yet or they’re working together. (That, or just fantastic promo editing.)
“Someone in the White House must have gotten to her,” Olivia later says as Jeannine’s face comes across the screen. Then, we hear Cyrus and Mellie’s exchange. “You’re evil,” he says, to which Mellie responds simply: “you’re welcome.”
Sounds like there is a lot to be handled in next week’s episode. Read on for the full synopsis (which includes hints about the flashbacks in Episode 2!) and watch the promo below.
“Olivia’s past comes back to haunt her on Scandal: Through flashbacks we learn more about Olivia’s estranged relationship with her father. Meanwhile, both the White House and Pope & Associates are still in the middle of cleaning up the very big and very public mess they created.”Catch the next episode of Scandal on Thursday, October 10 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
