There’s nothing funny about comedian Chris Kattan’s overnight DUI crash.
The 43-year-old crashed his Mercedes into the back of a Caltrans truck while overnight guardrail work was being performed on LA’s 101 freeway.
He smashed into the vehicle despite the fact the lane it was in was closed with cones, flashing arrows and signs. Fortunately the truck was empty and Kattan didn’t injure any of the Caltrans workers on site.
A visibly impaired Kattan failed field sobriety tests and allegedly told CHP officers he had taken prescription medication. He was arrested around 2:20 a.m. and taken to LAPD’s Van Nuys jail lockup.
The former Saturday Night Live star was released around 7:40 a.m. Monday after posting bond on his $15,000 bail. He’s due back in court on DUI charges on March 3.
