It sounds like the Liars will be taking several steps closer to finding out “A”’s identity in Season 4, Episode 17 (“Bite Your Tongue”). Though the juicy ep is still a few installments away, ABC Family has released the synopsis for the upcoming Pretty Little LiarsSeason 4 episode. What does it tell us about the Liars’ oh-so-clandestine movements? Read on to find out! Here’s the synopsis for Episode 17, which airs on January 28, 2014:
Hanna’s new interest in crime novels helps her to come up with a plan to try and figure out whose body is in Ali’s grave. While Hanna is on her hunt, Spencer is working overtime to decipher the stories in Ali’s diary which she hopes will reveal the identity of Ali’s mystery man. But with both girls hot on the trail, will their work lead them straight into “A’s” path? Meanwhile, Aria is upset with the new friend Mike has made and Emily’s dad is concerned about her behavior.
We love that Hanna is giving Spencer a run for her money in the sleuthing department this half-season! With two Liars on the job, we can only imagine unraveling the mystery will go twice as quickly. Though, we’re still bummed that the question composing the title of the winter premiere— “Who’s in the Box?”— still won’t have been answered at the start of this ep. Let’s hope Hanna’s plan yields some results, eh?
As for Spencer’s deciphering of the diaries, does this mean we might finally get some more Ali flashbacks? It’s only been one episode, and we’re suffering from a serious dearth of flashback and Ali. Considering Alison introduced the diaries to Spencer back in the day (in a flashback we saw in Season 3), we’re hoping Spencer’s “working overtime” might garner some fatigue-inspired flashbacks to the days when the entries were written. Wishful thinking?
It sounds like Emily and Aria will be dealing with more personal issues in the episode — though, on PLL, we suppose everything personal is “A”-related and everything “A”-related is personal.
Who is Mike making friends with? There are so many bad choices to choose from: Mona, Jenna, or even one of Aria's BFFs for the awkward factor. As for Em, we think her “behavior” might have something to do with the fact that Ali asked to meet Emily alone in the previous episode. With all of the feelings for Ali Emily has had to sort through, we can imagine the number a request like that — not to mention a possible meeting — might do to overload her thought processes. Keep it together, Em!
