Poor Honey Boo Boo! Last time we checked in with the Here Comes Honey Boo Boostar (real name Alana Thompson), she was dealing with some bad headaches after hitting her head during the family’s serious car accident. While the rest of the family has basically fully recovered one month later, the eight-year-old is still living with some pretty major after effects.
The first battle that Alana has dealt with is the physical aches and pains that come from being tossed around in an accident — especially at such a small size. "She has what [doctors] call post-concussion symptoms, which is like the headaches, the body aches, being dazed and confused,” Mama June said recently in an interview with BANG Showbiz. Head injuries are no joke!
But the long-term injuries will be mostly psychological, explains the fabulous tot’s mother. “She also has post-traumatic stress syndrome from being in a traumatic event. So we are just taking it one day at a time."
It’s so serious that Alana was even forced to cancel quite a few appearances, and she’s had to keep up with a series of mental and physical exercises in an attempt to restore her initial good health. And that hasn’t been without it’s challenges, says June.
"We are just trying to get her back to the most normal routine we can, which is going to help her healing process. What is frustrating is that we don't know what the outcome will be, or when she is going to be back to normal."
We can’t imagine life without our usually feisty and fun-loving Honey Boo Boo! We hope she’s back to her sassy and adorable self very soon!
