There are likely to be plenty of unhappy campers about this latest cancellation news.
NBC has canceled its hour-long dramedy Camp, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The summer camp-themed show aired this summer, finishing up its 13-episode first season last month.
The show was from the creator of Deception, which NBC canceled in May after its first season. Ouch! Camp had averaged a meager 1.2 rating among the coveted 18-49 demo.
Camp featured a cast of exclusively Australian actors, including Six Feet Under's Rachel Griffiths. Rachel played the head of the summer camp whose awkward teenage son trained to be a counselor.
Co-star Nikolai Nikolaeff took to Twitter on October 1 to confirm the sad news. "So… It was a great summer and I loved every minute of it," Nikolai tweets. "Sorry to all the @NBCCamp fans out there, but no go on #CampSeason2."
There weren't many other new scripted dramas to air on the networks this summer. The other two, ABC's Mistresses and CBS's Under the Dome, have both been given a second season. Meanwhile, NBC's other summer series, Siberia, did even worse than Camp in the ratings, which doesn't bode well for it.
So are you disappointed that Camp is closed for good? Or were you not even aware that it was open?
