Looks like it's gonna be a little harder for a young star to be famous.
After giving it a shot for a mere one season, MTV has cancelled the comedy Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous. The series follows the title character, played by comedian Bo Burnham, as he skips college to attempt fame right out of high school, with little success.
In all reality, though, Bo is probably going to be fine. The 22-year-old comedian already has three albums under his belt, including Bo Fo Sho, which was released by Comedy Central Records when he was just 17! It does, however, seem that the sun has set on his fictional counterpart.
After a weak start, the series was moved from the 10:30 p.m. timeslot to the 11 p.m., where its viewership dwindled even further.
As Deadline points out in their report, MTV has had little success with scripted series (besides Teen Wolf) in a good long while, except maybe Awkward, which remains in limbo after losing their showrunner.
Did you watch Zach Stone? Will you miss it?
