The first rule of any construction project: Wear a hard hat. The second rule of any construction project: Don’t lick the tools. As anyone who has seen Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball” music video knows (and really, who hasn’t seen it at this point?), Miley threw both rules right out the hole she knocked open with her wrecking ball.
The argument can be made the 20-year-old entertainer took the risk in pursuit of her art but, unfortunately, there was one unexpected negative consequence of Miley’s wiley tongue.
“They told me after, ‘Um, can you not do that. There’s paint on it,’” Miley told 106.1 KISS FM during a September 19 interview. “And I was like, ‘You could have told me that halfway through.’ My tongue was actually like purple.”
Well, it was bound to happen seeing as Miley’s a big fan of airing her tongue. But why lick the sledgehammer in the first place?
“That was actually me joking at first,” Miley explains. “I was kidding because [video director Terry Richardson] was like ‘look like this, look sad’ whatever so I just started joking, and then he, of course, loved it because Terry’s weird like me.”
Here’s the moral of the story: If you want to avoid getting your tongue coated in paint, don’t lick construction tools, but if you want to create a music video that, as of publishing, had 129,499,508 YouTube views, always carry mouthwash.Source: 106.1 KISS FM
