UPDATE (9/10/13): Miley Cyrus posted an ad for the documentary to Instagram, the ad revealing the movie's title and air date. Miley: The Movement will debut on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 10 p.m. ET on MTV.
Original story (8/22/13):
It may not be the sequel to Hannah Montana: The Movie, but we’re still pretty excited for the upcoming television documentary about Miley Cyrus set to air this fall.
The project was announced by MTV Programming President Susanne Daniels at the annual Television Critics Association summer press tour, and although there aren’t many details available yet, what we do know sounds promising.
The as yet unnamed film will be a whole hour long (the possibilities!) and will air on MTV (who needs music videos?!). The basic concept is for cameras to follow the 20-year-old pop princess as she works on her new album, Bangerz, which is due out Tuesday, October 8.
Highlights we’re expecting from the documentary: Miley gets a new grill; Miley sings a couple songs; Miley grows out her hair; Miley hangs out with her probably still fiancé Liam Hemsworth; Miley wears a onesie. What’s not to love?
Will Miley’s documentary be as anticlimactic and yet riveting as Beyonce’s Life Is But A Dream, which aired on HBO earlier this summer? Unlikely, seeing as Blue Ivy isn’t involved, but that won’t stop us from watching. What about you? Will you tune in when MTV airsMiley’s documentary? Tell us in the comments below!
