Remember that obnoxiously expensive wedding between Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries back in 2011? As you know, it didn’t last, and it appears even diamonds aren’t forever. According to Perez Hilton, the fabled engagement ring has popped up in Christie’s auction book and it’s set to be auctioned off on October 15!
For diehard Kardashian fans, it’s a moment to be a part of reality TV history. If you can offer up a pretty penny for the 20-carat Lorraine Schwartz bling that Kris used to pop the question, well, good for you. Although we’re not sure we’d want to get our hands on the ring since the relationship didn’t work out. Sure, it would be nice to have the bling, but it’s probably cursed.
The only good thing about this auction is that a portion of the proceeds are going to a charity. Check out the information slide of the auction book to learn more.
In a strange turn of events, the October 15 auction date is almost two years after Kim filed for divorce from her basketball lover. Everything about the relationship was super quick. The couple was engaged in May of 2011 and married on August 20 of the same year. And before the New Year’s Ball dropped, they were already separated. Mega womp.
We hope the ring and its new owners enjoy more than 72 days of wedded bliss. Happy auctioning!
