Is Chantel Jeffries a shrewd businesswoman — or an exploitive self-promoter? That's for you and her reported boyfriend, Justin Bieber, to judge. Page Sixreports that the model wanted to sell her account of Justin's recent drag race and subsequent arrest in Miami for $20,000.
In case you missed it, Justin was arrested early in the morning on January 23 in Miami Beach, Florida, on charges of DUI, driving on an expired licence, and resisting arrest without violence — after he and his friend were busted drag-racing down a residential street. Chantel was riding shotgun.
The outlet cites multiple sources who say that Chantel's rep met with publications and TV shows — like Good Morning America, Today, and Inside Edition.
"She hired an attorney and was negotiating a deal with the weekly magazines and the big TV shows," one such source says. "She wanted $20,000 plus a guaranteed mention of her modeling career."
Page Six also spills that no one was taking the bait, and Chantel dropped out of all negotiations right around the time she and Justin spent a romantic vacation in Panama City. ("Oh, baby, I didn't mean it!" we imagine her saying. "I'm not in it for the fame!")
It's worth mentioning that Chantel is no model citizen — she's been arrested five times in her 21 years.Hey, maybe the report is all bogus and she's really trying to turn over a new leaf with Justin… right? Right? Anyone?
